Mindy Newman, LMHC is a mental health counselor and hypnotherapist with over 10 years of professional experience. She has an M.A. in counseling psychology from Lesley University and an M.T.S. in world religion from Harvard University. Mindy provides supportive, flexible attachment-based therapy for adults dealing with anxiety/panic, addictions, eating disorders, depression, and more.

What types of problems are typically dealt with?
Anxiety/panic, depression, addiction, eating disorders, smoking cessation, stress reduction, and relationship issues.
How do I know who is the right person for me to work with?
Omni has two psychotherapists, Kent Jarratt, LCSW and Mindy Newman, LMHC. Sometimes people have a strong preference as to whether they would like to see a man or a woman. An in-person consultation session is a good way to get a sense of whether or not a therapist is a good fit for you. The most important thing is how you feel with them – follow your instincts and trust your intuition about whether you think you’d be comfortable working with them.
I know there are many forms of therapy; what methods or techniques do you typically use?
Both Kent and Mindy are flexible and integrate different tools based on clients’ needs. Kent draws on psychodynamic, existential-humanistic, and relational approaches to psychotherapy, while Mindy uses an attachment-based and contemplative approach to therapy.
Are there problems for which it’s not appropriate to use your services?
If psychotherapy is not appropriate, we are happy to help you find the right services to meet your needs.
How does a therapy session work?
Sessions are 50 minutes. Most people come to therapy once a week, especially at the beginning.
How long do people usually work with a therapist at Omni? Do you do only long-term therapy or is short-term therapy also available? If I start to see you, am I making a commitment to working with you long-term?
It varies from person to person. Some people need and want an ongoing relationship with a therapist, while others do very well with shorter-term treatment. You do not have to make a long-term commitment to come in and meet with a therapist at Omni.
