Meet Dr. Scott Andersen

I remember the first time my mom brought me to the Chiropractor. I was 12 and was suffering from back pain due to contact football.  The Chiropractor, an old school guy,  manipulated my spine cold. This is the classical way Chiropractors work- find what’s “out” and crack away.  He obviously had a ton of experience and I was amazed how something so simple could give me relief.

Performance is everything in athletics and to an athlete.  An injury that limits your life style, adds a deeper appreciate on health.  Missing those games and mending back drew me to learn more about the body and the science behind it.  The Chiropractor set my body right so that i could heal quicker and it also limited the chances for further injury.

Bridging into collage starting the Pre-Med program, i soon realized body mechanics was more my passion.  Being around teams and athletes studying performance and the ways to enhance performance through the Exercise Science Program at the University of Massachusetts.  Finishing with a Bachelor’s degree in science, followed with a Doctorate in Chiropractic.   Going on 20 years licensed in N.Y. state you learn a thing or two.  Especially in the Heart of NYC’s Flatiron District you realize time is everything.  How to get more done with less time.  Answer Build a home for multiple practitioners treating similar issues from different angles. This was the approach when Co Founding Omni Wellness NYC.

My 25 year career was influenced from the time I mentored under the great Dr Shelly Bosten in Los Angeles. It was under her tutelage that I developed a technique that’s truly hands on. By manually kneading through muscle and warming up ligaments helped me prepare my patients for easy and comfortable adjustment that’s considered a Manipulative style.  A more involved treatment like the one I got when I was 16.  All these years later, Experience has now made me the ‘Neo-Old School Guy’!
